"Cosmic Manifesto" Message by IDAKI SHIN
A historic multimedia show took place at Addis Ababa on November 10, 2001. The artist Mr. Tadamitsu Saito played a concert on a variety of instruments, not performing any ready-made composition, but improvising sounds based on his intuitive perception of the internal beauty of the audience, their culture and history, and surrounding nature.
He received inspiration not only from the presence of the audience on site, but also from messages sent by a world-wide virtual audience via a website. His challenge was to incorporate messages received via internet with inspiration produced by direct interaction with the audience on site, transforming both into music and visual displays. He has done this by manipulating a specially designed sound and visual system. This performance was transmitted globally through TV broadcasts and internet streaming, and would be published, together with all the messages received, in the form of DVD, etc.
